The winning teams of the competition, which encourages school students to find practical solutions to real-world problems aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), were awarded at a ceremony held at the JKLU campus on December 21.
Team ‘Auxilium’ from Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Kolkata which developed an AI- powered diagnostic briefcase for enabling on-site health screening for people in remoteplaces was awarded the 1 st Runner-Up trophy and cash prize of Rs. 75,000. The 2 nd Runner-Up trophy and cash prize of Rs 50,000 was bagged by Team ‘ECOSPROUT’ from Delhi Public School Indore for developing biodegradable nursery mould to reduce plastic usage in nurseries.
“I am extremely happy that JKLU Ideathon is inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ideas presented at the Ideathon are teaching the new generation that development is truly inclusive when it reaches the last person in society — whether in education, employment, health, social integration, or technology,” Shri Saraf said, addressing the Ideathon participants.
“I would like to congratulate all the three winning teams of the competition. However, inmy eyes, every participant in this competition is a winner because you have thought, worked hard, and shown the courage to create something new. This courage will takeyou to new heights in the future,” he added.
Development Goals into the competition, JKLU ‘My City, My Lab’ Ideathon nurtures socially conscious innovators who see their localities as living laboratories for change.We are spellbound by the ideas presented by the participating students and will be very happy to offer further support through our Atal Innovation Centre to implement some of the ideas on the ground.
Through their participation, students make a tangible impact on their communities while developing the competencies required for future leadership roles.
